Anyone else as excited as me, Or am I the only idiot :gag: xD!

I can't wait either. This will be the 1st summer where i kinda know roughly what i'm doing as last summer was a learning curve.

I have holidays planned for Tenereif, Cotswolds and Western France.

Fingers crossed for a good one!!

Lol can you take me =[ iv never been abroad xD!

Me too. Just been invited to become official event tog for a company that puts on Equine events. Gonna be plenty busy. WoOt !!

I can't wait either, had a photo meet in London yesterday and can't wait for more now in some real warmth (and not just sunshine!) :D

Looking forward to early June, when we're off to Crete to visit some old friends (tsikoudia, Ouzo, wine etc!) and be pretty much guaranteed some warm (if not hot) weather and sunshine.

Yep, warmer days, long evenings, cloudless skies, not wearing a jumper everywhere ...... can't wait!

can't wait for my eurotrip. :D already invest a lot of lens

It's going to be a great summer. US coast to coast and Thailand, not to mention the longer days, t-shirt weather etc.

Oh, and you gain 2 hours of light this month since the clocks go forward.

I can't wait - we are off to Botswana for 2 and a bit weeks this summer!!

We are going to have our marriage blessed in front of my husbands family and then having a celebration afterwards, and taking my parents too! We have managed to tag on an extra safari to the Okavango too now, not just Chobe! So am really excited about that.

The only downside is I am now seriously considering hitting my house deposit savings to buy a 300mm F4 L to go along with my 70-200 + 1.4x tc (which is fine for Chobe from my experience in the past), but will be nice having the extra reach for the Okavango.

Get yourself over to Ryanair's website (or some other no frills airline) and get a <£50 flight out to somewhere nice! A few days away will be the best thing you could this year photographically speaking :D

Rather than hitting your savings for an expensive lens, why not hire one from StewartR at lensesforhire?

Your not mad and definately not alone :)

I've booked my first two weeks of work in 6 years in April and still haven't decided where to go yet!! Tossing up between Thailand, Phillipines, Croatia, Turkey, Euro-Drive or jump around a couple of car events ni the UK and Scotland lol!

Works already authorised the use of the car for Europe so thats sorted if need be! Wherever I go camera and laptop will be going and can be assured photo's will be taken at every opportunity...

I have looked into it, but it is the best part of £200 for the duration I need it for - and that money was going to be used towards buying the lens anyway, so I don't feel I want to 'waste' the money on hiring it instead of putting it towards buying one - even if that means not having it while on safari. :bonk:

I probably sound mad not being bothered about having it while on safari, but we go over every year to see family, and in the past I have only had my 75-300mm lens on a film body, so this time I will have a 280mm lens (70-200 + 1.4x tc), on a 1.6 crop body, so a perceived reach of 448mm, so I should be fine in reality!

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Me too! Winter has lasted far too long. I started getting excited last Monday when the sun made it's 1st appearance this year. Get a really good feeling when I wake up and the sun is out!

can't wait for the warmer weather..

does anyone know what day summer is this year??

a few years back I bought tickets to milan and norway for 2 pence return inc tax. Cheap flight but lousy services

sumer is acumin in!

glad to see some sun today...gives one the chance to dry out and heat up

you have to wait longer for sunsets though

Oh come on, you can't moan about that. For 2p I'd help push the plane if it needed a jump start

Hahaha. I've used them about 3 or 4 times, all 2p flights, can't complain.

Last time, we went to Dublin just for the day, just to sit in the Guinness Bar all day.

In the summer the bar at the top of the Guinness factory is amazing. Sun shining through the glass, and a nice view.

Definately worth 2p and a really bad 30 minute journey on a ryanair plane.

I've been over to Krakow 5 times with Ryanair now.. aside New Year (when it's expected to pay normal rates) I've never paid more than £10 for a return ticket :D

Cheapest was indeed, 2p! Unbelievable :)

I am with you Daniel first summer with my DSLR I just hope it does not rain next weekend so I can go to Brands Hatch plus I don't want rain the weekends I have car shows to go to and I have my holiday all booked up.

I CAN'T WAIT.......and, yes, I'll shout that if I want to!

We get one warm day followed by one freeze your backside off day at the moment and it's BORING me!

I'm very excited to be going back to Scotland in June - beautiful, stunning, dramatic scenery and more than just a P&S this year! Yay! :D

Which car shows? I have tmie off for Japfest and JDM Allstars in Manc and am still fighting to have the JAE weekend off this year as since they;ve changed the times to September it's been a PITA to get time off as it's plate change month :)

I'm really looking forward at going back to Cornwall this summer for some seascapes/landscapes, don't exactly know which month, lived and went to school there for 8yrs, not been back since 2002.

I'm another who can't wait! I finally got an allotment in October so this year holds huge promise for growing fruit and veg as well as doing a pictoral diary of life on the plot.

Sounds a bit sad that really doesn't it.

I can't wait to shoot my son's rugby league with my new (new to me that is) 1D Mk III and 70-200 F4 - hopefully wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

Oh yes and I can't wait to go fishing in France at the end of May. Small lake that we have exclusive use of and nice gitte as well.

I'm looking forward to it! Got as many sessions with some 'models' as I want too! Another thing to look forward to!
