When down allotment this morning to be told by the bloke across from us that 'they' (****ing thieving aresholes) had been down again :(

When we got to our polytunnel they have put a nice hole in the front where they have tried to get in and been over the fence (damaged that too) to the chicken area to try and get in the back door which is locked, they have bent that where they have been pullling on it, not even worth it as nothing is ready in there yet :bat:

I was down there on my own and left at 8:30pm last night so its sometime after that and the other person getting there.

Whats the point in putting in the effort for some ********s to come down every weekend to steal the stuff but then they are picky as they dont touch some stuff

:bang::bat::bang::bat:

Heres the hole

Arrange a TP meet in your polytunnel one evening. Sit and wait. At the very least all those flashes should blind them.

Sorry to hear about the damage. Don't let them get you down.

Oh good idea

Not the first time its had it, when it was only a couple of months old some kids came on and decided it was funy to run knives through it  made a right mess.

Police might come and see if they can get some finger prints but as always with the coppers its a wait and see :bang:

Thanks for the reply :)

sorry to hear it , dont let 'em beat you

dont hold your breath waiting for the coppers either

Sorry to hear about this - we had thieves in our garden recently who took our raspberry crop - you know it builds up and then you get a lot - well we should have been picking a lot on the Monday, about 3 large ice cream tubs full but someone came in, took the lot - ripe and ripening fruit and damaged the canes so much that even a month later we are still not getting a dishful a day when we should be getting loads.

Scum. I really can't fathom the mentality of people who think it's OK to just damage other people's property....

Bad isnt it, the bloke across from us had about 5lbs of cherries stolen last year, he was gonna pick them the next day but someone came down that night and took them all.

When we went down mums we knew they had took some pots (even had the cheek to leave us about 5 manky ones on top of the soil), toms, cucumbers ect but this is the first time they have caused damage. We cant understand why they didnt cut the plastic as they have cut cauliflowers off and other peoples stuff so why try that by hand  Well we will just leave it open from now on so they dont cause more damage.

Not holding my breath with the police, i know they are crap :bang: When the kids attacked it was us who found out who they was, not them!

Just another kick in the teeth :shake:

scum , :bat: is what they need

It makes me sick too - what makes people think they can just damage and take other peoples things, ruin all their hard work, and generally make them unhappy? I just don't understand how they can be so selfish and unfeeling.

Scum indeed.

Sorry Lisa - I don't have any good ideas as to how to stop them. I suppose the extreme is for everyone with an allotment to club together and rig up some sort of security camera. Are there enough of you to make it viable money-wise?

good point about the camera , no need for mains power either i reckon , should be able to run something off a 12 volt battery :)

Most arent bothered to be honest but then they aint breaking their stuff :bang: The problem is down the bottom across from us theres a section with no fencing, so they just walk down the field next door and come in  council aint that bothered either :bang:

Tsk, stories like this really does get to me. You work hard and all for what? Some little scrotes comes along and undo it all for you.

And I can't see things getting any better.

But tell you what, Lisa. Yesterday, I caught the two little brats (11 and 13 years old) coming into my front garden and pinching rocks off my rockery to throw at other people's windows. I shouted at them to pack it in but it just hadn't made a scrap of difference what so ever. It's odd really as it's the first time I've had this kind of trouble from them since them lots moved in 5 years ago, so it seems like when they reached a certain age some kind of self-destruct program kicks inside their little brains.
So, if I give you their address, you're more than welcome to come around and vent your anger on them. Feel free to use any method.

Here's the address, it's 18 H . . . . (Rest had been deleted by admin).

Update, SOCO have been down this morning and removed the bit where they have ripped it to take away.

He also gave us a tip, put carpet staples on the top of the door so when they get hold of it to pull it they will rip themselves to pieces and he'll have blood and skin for evidence but that wasnt from him ;)

Also he was impressed with me camera and started chatting about that

Would this be the same police force that will then try to charge you causing injury the the B******S poor little hand.

As with anything like this, the law seems unfairly weighted in favor of the offender, not the victim.

hope that through some form of luck, they catch the theiving B*****D(S).

Really annoying. I had an allotment years ago and had stuff stolen. They are to b****y lazy to get off their bums and grow their own.Its the same type that, every year, damage the flower displays in our town.
Sue

you can buy 12 bore triggers that fire from string and blank or smoke cartridges online give it a google, non harmful and will scare the ***** out of them when they step on the tripwire

Probably, id like to see them try it on with my oh!

Off to take a look, thank you :)

Also forgot, the copper said to put sand round the polytunnel so when they step on it they will leave a print for them and they can make a cast of it so they know the exact shoe, size ect.

Thanks everyone :)

Hi LISA,

Are you in or around Birmingham...........

Thought it was council land You all pay rent for....if there's no fence ,surely THEY should get one..(might cost a bit on the rent for a few years). It should be easy to get a signature from ALL the alotment holders and the residents near by as the scum must be roaming around the alotments area.

Get in touch with the local papers and T.V./radio and get the council to explain their (lack of) policy on this matter. Also local councellors and MP's.

PLANT CANABIS ...THAT WOULD GET THE PLACE SWARMING WITH THE OTHER SCUM...no-one would dare come and nick owt then....sorry about that,it just came into my head.

WHOSE DOING IT.......kids probably slashing the tunnels BUT think it's OLDER people nicking the food...and they live local or walk their dogs near so as to know when to strike.

These were just a few things that came to mind while reading the above comments, hope you get things sorted soon.

Keith:)

Thanks ringyneck, im on the notts/ derbys border.

We've had kids on before and they just chopped all the fruit and veg up and slashed our polytunnel.

These are coming on a fri/ sat night and know what to take, they know its ready and they know what they want.

Council have had a fence priced up but have to go to the county council to see if they can have the money so good knows if/ when it will get done.

Thanks for your input :)

Sounds like you're in my neck of the woods!

Worrying to hear the above...Ive just taken on an allotment in Long Eaton, only a big strip of grass at the moment though so shouldnt be too concerned about it!

Well someones been back on last night but seems they knew what they wanted and where it was, they have broken the lock on the main gates but not got it off so couldnt have entry that way but they went to a shed on the plot across from us and stole his rotavator(sp?) they have ripped all the locks off to get in.

So it now looks like its someone from down there as no-one would have know it was there otherwise and its the only shed ect thats been broken into :suspect:

just checked out ya profile.
you got a bike to Lisa?
i'm from notts to.
mansfied to be precise.
we used to have an allotment on eakring road.
and after that , clipstone.
but we had guard geese on ours.
noisy enough to scare most away.
luckily we never got broken into.

fwiw i hope you have passed this info onto the police , it may help in catching the *****

Surprised all the allotment owners don't club together and hire a Khmer refugee to sit guard...might even have his own AK still, you never know...

Seriously, have you thought about all clubbing together to put the place on the list of 'residences' patrolled by a Private Security Firm?

 Nope no bike, i just watch them and like taking pics of them :)

We will when we next speak to them but i very much doubt the bloke who got broke into will :bang:

From what someone said to me yesterday after SOCO had been down again looks like they was wearing gloves. They used someones wheelbarrow to move it and stole soemone elses tools (fork, spade ect) from his greenhouse.

 Good idea!

Most arent bothered as some havent been hit, then they still arent that bothered as they havent any damage done to them, funny how it changes when they do :bang: When the kids got on and chopped up loads of people stuff one bloke caught them another day and they admitted it, they got them to help 'clean up' and do some jobs for them then just let them go, sod our polytunnel they had cut to pieces! :bat: Thats how they think down there :(
