Yes
Well I have now been off work for four weeks after having spinal surgery.....

I have been out and about a couple of times with the camera however all the images are having to stay on the cards as I can not sit at the computer to process them at the moment.

Maximum time that I can sit is about fifteen minutes then I have to stand up have a wander or do my exercises....

So I am limited to browsing the internet on my tablet or phone and laying on the floor or sofa watching telly.

The final insult is the weather we are having at the moment.... its lovely and I am Mr Lemon again....

Hope everyone else is enjoying the weather and getting loads of wonderful images.

Nigel

You have my sympathy I was grounded for 8 weeks last year and it was hell, even when I could get out I couldn't use my camera :(

Hope all goes well and you can get moving again soon (y)

I had 5 weeks off with a knee op, could hardly move about for a couple of weeks, got very bored.

Your all just playing at it I’ve been off now for 35 weeks, I have a physically demanding job which I can no longer do due to wear and tear on the body I have tried to get my employer to either find me another job within the company or make me redundant so that I can find other employment.

Just for info, there is a clause in my contract stopping me from working for anyone else while I’m employed by them and also if I’m unfit to perform my job due to medical reasons there is a clause for medical redundancy.

Thank god I had the foresight to take out insurance because you sure as hell can’t live on statutory sick pay or what the government gives you after. I suppose that’s what happens when you spend your life working and not on how to work the system but that’s another discussion.

I'm in the same boat, except I'm at work. Slipped disc and degenerative discs. Had an epidural on Saturday but it didn't work so I'm forced to sit here for 20 minutes then walk about then sit down ad nauseum.. Op soon methinks

Nick the op is the best thing... Had my first one fifteen years ago it lasted well ... Will hopefully get a little more mileage out of this one.

I'm starting to think that. I was hoping that I wouldn't need one, but it's looking like one is on the cards. Was your situation the same as mine?

I had about 15 months basically house bound after my car crash a couple of years ago, it was hell...had about the last 4/5 weeks off the road as my car broke down, hopefully that will finally get fixed this week

Hope you're well and out and about soon Nigel.

I had a similar situation for 8 weeks at the back end of last year. Only thing that kept me slightly sane was TV boxed sets & doing processing on my laptop. Couldn't sit up at all.
You have my sympathy.

Nick I had two prolapsed disc 15 years ago and it was the same area that needed surgery again.

The surgery is nothing really I was stood up the same day and out of hospital the next ... It the rehab and recover that takes time. You just have to take things easy and do the exercises they give you. It just take time for the muscles to heal... Hope it gets sorted soon.

Thanks Nigel. Meeting with the surgeon this afternoon to discuss my options. Hopefully you'll be up and about soon
