Yes
Not having a good day.

Still snowed in and no sign of it clearing. Food slowly running out - last of the coal and logs burned and we've now got no water........

Might have to melt some snow and chop down a tree :help:

Still have internet though... :) Hope it clears soon...

Yes - still got the net thank god.

If the electricity wires come down (which happens in snow) I'll be sulking as we have no gas here.

I can sympathise as it is bad enough here, hope it gets better for you m8:thumbs:

Unfortunately the weather forecast does not suggest any let up.

The snow is falling thick and fast again now.

The bulk of it came down on the 23rd Dec and Boxing day but it's the constant thaw/freeze/thaw/more snow that is the problem.

If I could only get to the main road then all would be fine.

At least the pub is within walking distance :)

Hope you get unblocked soon :D I remember in 1977 ,i stayed in a place called Kinbrace we were blocked in for 3 1/2 wks no power no phone ,them were the days ,it's really heavy here as well ,to be honest just getting a bit fed up of it now :(

That must have been awful.

We've been 'stuck' since the 29th although if we hadn't been away over Christmas it would have been from the 23rd.

Actually it wasn't that bad ,the worse part was the morning after the blizzard ,we had to tunnel our way out of the house it was totally buried ,the bit i remember most vividly was the two trees at the top of the drive they were about 30' tall and all we could see of them was the very top foot or so

it was snowing here too just now but only for a while..wish things get better for you soon.. :)

Cheers folks (typing slowly) as I've had a great night in the pub. As a Scottish Water employee - I got a lot of abuse tonight regarding the water - but hey ho - nothing like a crisis to get folk together......

Crikey, that does sound bad! Hope you'll be able to cope with it as like what you said there's no sign of it letting up.
And yet over here in the densely populated south east we come to a grind under 1 cm of snow!

Incidentally I'm forecasting further sleet and snow to affect mainly the eastern side of the UK at least for the next 9 days. But over here at Folkestone I'm still waiting for the first proper dumping of snow. Won't be long, though.

Don't they have food in the pub?

we were trapped by snow in the seventies when returning to Dorset from Shropshire.Ended up staying at a mothballed army camp on the edge of Warminster for two or three nights and living on the contents of a Bowyers lorry that was trapped too.

I know Kinbrace.
Station, post office and school. That's about it.
Wonderfull wilderness though.

We managed to get to Tesco last night. Which was good although there's no coal or logs to be had.

next time try asking if they have any wooden pallets they want rid of :)

Good thinking.

That said I've plenty of 'timber' stashed away including a few pallets which if it comes down to it I can saw up for firewood.

It's my firewood (logs) that I've run out of. No coal is the worst thing really as that's where I get the heat from.

Hopefully I can raid a petrol station somewhere now I can get the car out to keep me going till the coal lorry can get to us.

did you hear about the woman from Cape Wrath? who took 12 days to buy the christmas Dinner

I could belive it

Anyway - I'm 'mobile' again now and have got a load of peat in so at least the fire can burn for as long as we like.
