Daily snorton's 365 project - Calling It A Day I'm Afraid :(

Thanks for the comments. Looking at the portrait now, yep the white balance was a bit out, may have had my laptop at a funny angle when working on it at the time. Hopefully now rectified...

The edit is much better. Is this his best smile for the camera face?

The barge works well  but your nephew cracks me up  mainly because he reminds me of my youngest nephew  he's a terror will never stop still when you want to take his photo and always pulls faces at the camera :(

It is definitely a better better. Lol lately he's going through a phase of doing daft things and pulling funny faces that just crack us all up :D

Hehehe this little fella is going through exactly the same thing.

A very frustrating last few days, work getting in the way, long late shifts, no time to do anything or time to yourself. All I seem to have done is gone to work, come home knackered, go to bed, wake up again and go back to work. Hence why I've had no time at all to take a good look at other 365's, and also having to spend what time I can catching up with my own.

So my Day 24. Again time and inspiration in the home sadly lacking on both counts, so it's a case of trying to turn a middle aged bloke into a moody hoodie. Not my best selfie if I'm being honest, but at the moment I'm just trying to keep up :help::help::bang::bang::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::'(:'(

Don't beat yourself up over it we all struggle with inspiration and stuff and i really really like this... i love the dark grittyness and in excludes emotion... well done:thumbs:

Thanks hun :D. That's put a smile on my face....just before I set off to work...again :cuckoo:

I think it's pretty good actually, don't put yourself down too much. Dark, moody and interesting lighting - what's not to like?

Catching up on your last few, the barge is nice but your nephew is really funny, well done. Today's is dark and menacing, not a bad look for a middle aged man;)

Just catching up. I really like the barge shot - the angle of light makes it interesting I think. Typical 'you're not taking my photo' look from your nephew! And the SP is really moody. :)

I know what you mean about having some frustrating days where it just doesn't seem to go right....I'm having one today as well. Managed to get out but not happy with anything I got, so not sure what I'll end up doing! :cuckoo:

However, I'd be pretty damn pleased with myself if that was what I produced on an off day - it really is dark and moody....but it looks very pensive as well!

Is it me or do you look a little like Lee Harvey Oswald?

Simon I like day 24 , the angle is perfect IMO , keep plodding along with the challenge !!!

Like the others, I really like it! It works!

I like the grittiness of the selfie, but cant help thinking there should be more space in front of you rather than behind?

Quite a dark selfie but I think that it actually works quite well

WOW!!!! Thanks for all your comments and feedback, really appreciated. Loved the reference to Lee Harvey Oswald too, gave me a right chuckle. So work getting back to some kind of normality now, and will allow me more time to get out and about, and more importantly catch up with no doubt a plethora of amazing shots

Before all that time to do a little catch up of my own and bring my 365 bang up to date.

Here we go then, catch up with my 365....

Sometimes I feel the 365 isn't always about stunning or technically brilliant shots, but also just about your own daily life and story of the day, hence this one for Day 25. After a very long late shift and coming home to a brew and a chocolate muffin...

Day 26 gives you a clue as to why sometimes I struggle to get out and about with the camera, and my full time job that creates this obstacle. This shot is the first of my 365 using Instagram for iphone4, and again due to not being able to get out with the D3000...

Finally, today's....Day 27, and another clue to my day job, and demonstrates what my life has been like the last few days...go to work, come home from work, eat, go to bed, get up again for work.

Ahhhh, feel better now I'm bang up to date, and can now see light at the end of the tunnel :D

Nice catch up, and I agree with you about portraying every day life. It will be nice to look back and remember in the future.

Like that Simon!,.. I was thinking last night nearly first month complete!

January seems to have been the longest month ever - roll on the spring please.

Some really nice ones since I last saw your thread (how did I miss them?) That muffin's making my mouth water and I think we have some good clues as to your day job :D The calendar is really nice....but don't the days go by faster now?:)

It's amazing how quick it's gone.

Yeah....roll on some nice spring landscape shots :D

Some great shots here, just been browsing, never spotted your 365 before. I'm now subscribed

Wow, thank you very much. I will vow to take a look at yours too, and will subscribe.

A very apt photo !! Nice work simon

Thank you

Hehehe, now you know what my day job is, you can understand my frustration of lack of me time....that's why all my work colleagues christen our place of work Slavecoach ;);):D

So Day 29, and it's time for a bit of photographer porn....PPWWWOOAARRRHHH!!!!

I have a 2nd spare light stand, and with a 2nd flash unit on the way, and a couple of rogue flashbenders in the post, I also picked up this bad boy for a whole £7.99 off Amazon, and brilliantly sturdy and better than the crappy £15 one's supplied by a certain (now defunct) high street camera store :D:D.

Ooooo what time is it....yep it's strobist time

Wahey! Nothing like some togger porn :naughty:

Some nice shots there! Lovely portrait of your nephew, second edit is excellent :)

Very nice, I am currently doing the basket dance with some strobist gear :D Just waiting to see if I make it to the end of next month in the black though ;)

Great series. I also like the fact that you are not afraid to put up normal everyday life shots. Afterall, what with work and our busy lives how on earth can we do something amazing every single day? Keep it up man!

Oh year certainly a little bit tog porn there :D the calender works really well too

Cheers for that fella. It's certainly at times difficult to come up with wonderful and technically brilliant shots, and I also feel that the 365 is a journey, so good to put some normal everyday shots in there too.

You big tease Simon !!! Nice one

Hehehe....cheers fella.

A little catch up again here, and firstly yet more photographer porn!!!!

If easily offended look away now

So (almost the final piece of my strobist puzzle) and took delivery 2 days ago of a 2nd flash unit..

Day 30 more photographer porn.

8434608141_7f4f8af955_b.jpg

Now Day 31, was supposed to be the 3rd and final instalment of my photographer porn series, but it's not arrived in the post yet (it was a couple of rogue flash benders). So last night, after work, as telly was naff I found myself on Youtube, watching the old Two Ronnies "Four Candles" sketch, thus giving me a quick idea for a shot, so decided to use the above new flash unit and try more macro using ocf...
