I’ve had a website www.Carolineshipsey.co.uk for years hosted by Smugmug at the lowest level which costs approx £13 monthly.
ive not updated it for about 3/4 years so it’s just there doing nothing.
Financially I need to save every Penny possible and am thinking this would be something I could economise on.
Is it worth keeping? Do people still look at websites or is it all Instagram or something else I’m out of touch with?
anythoughts would be welcome please.

Personal websites are generally just a vanity thing, but I've found from business ventures that websites usually are only worthwhile if you use other vehicles (FB, Insta, conventional adverts) to drive people to them.
However, if you want to maintain a portfolio website, I have recently been documenting my own search for this in another thread here, and have ended up on Zenfolio with their Portfolio subscription level, costing £48/year, which I have linked to my own domain name registered elsewhere. Unless you have a large number of images on the site, it seems to offer what is required, so worth a look. The layout options are a bit limited, but adequate. If you want to sell from the website though, the subscription rates are higher and probably similar to Smugmug/Squarespace etc.

The question I'd ask is whether it covers its own cost or not, if you're having to save money. I notice that you do sell your images, but also that the dates of many of the subjects are more than 10 years old. If you're not making current sales then it may be wise to let it go.

If you subscribe to Adobe's Photographer plan, that includes a free website (actually 3 I think) with their Portfolio service.

This, I keep mine ticking over as part of my Lightroom / PS subscription. No idea how many people look at it but I have sold images and got paying jobs from it so somebody obviously does

! would ask myself " am I getting any financial gain from my web site?" , that would be the deciding factor. You have already spent about £630 (over 4 years) and that is a lot of sales to get before earning anything.
The photos on it more than likely you have saved elsewhere, so keeping them on a web site is not really necessaery

you can save them on something like " https://imgur.com." which is free I use, that and "Flickr" also on youtube, so there are plenty of alternatives. on youtube also shows how many views and subscribers to your channel
We used to have a website for a business we had before my wife and I retired, but most of the clients were gain by reputation and word of mouth
In my opinion using a watermark across the photos gives better protection against theft.

Thanks everyone for your replies - Yes it is a vanity thing, I’ve rarely sold anything actually from the site but used to get work from it which made it worthwhile. There are some galleries in the site that I have an emotional attachment to which probably sounds silly and I’d lik,e to save those in some way. Any suggestions of how best todo this would be welcome too.
Realspeed your situation sounds very similar to mine, thank you. I’ll take a look at Imgur.com as free is very appealing. I didn’t realise I could use YouTube do you have an example I could take a look at please, also on Imgur.

you could go and look on youtube under Bazza1041(my videos I posted on there ) and in Imgur its realspeed. Flikr is also very good and worth checking out
