Anyone got any idea how much these cost ?

Driving home from Edinburgh today , as I started the buggy , it told me the battery was low :(

Can I fit it myself [ not that good with my paws ] or is it a garage job ?

If it's anything like a renault one it'll be a lithium button type, couple of squids at your local supermarket.

2-3 quid from most places, possibly cheaper at Wilkinson's. Usually dead easy to do the swap.

Brilliant - just what I needed - thanks guys :)

HA !!

Knew it wasn't going to be that easy ;)

Fished out the spare key thingy for use today till I change the other ones battery. Decided I'd nowt to lose by investigating the procedure

FAIL - my thingy doesn't slide up properly - sticks a few mm up and doesn't move at all after that. The unused one - can't get it to start sliding up either. Grrrh will get 2 batteries and will take to my very helpful garage folk and they'll do it for me in secs :) Of course it could simply be my hand problems

Possibly those few mm are enough. When the sliding part stops, try pulling it away from the rest of the fob. Personally, I'd take it to Halfords or similar rather than a garage (unless the garage is your usual one and they'll do it for free!)

My garage is my usual servicing place - and it's a main dealer and they are very very helpful .

One time I couldn't remove the filler cap as it had been replaced too tightly for me - headed over - 2 second job - much laughter and job done. They know I have hand problems. That was not long after I had bought my first Freelander from them.
