So looking for a compact bag that will hold a D750 plus 1 short lens + camera strap.

Needs to look a little less camera bag like. The TT Retro 5 is on the shortlist but any alternatives that are similar?

Its just for trips in to the City etc when wanting to travel uber light!

Suggestions please!

How about a holster type bag inside a less camera kit looking one?

I don't know if this idea is any use but a friend who was having a clear-out sent me a GEM bag that's meant for a 13" laptop or a tablet. It's a shoulder bag with lots of zipped pockets etc. and quite deep. I have a nice bag for my 15.6" laptops so I thought I'd use it as a camera bag. It's perfect and doesn't look like a dedicated camera bag:).

It's the one on the top row, far right here, £19.94:

On 2nd thoughts, I'm not too keep on the huge zipper on the Domke, pulling gear in and out might not be so easy whilst trying to avoid the zipper edges!

*edit zipper is plastic... shouldnt be an issue i guess!

Domke is small... but it fits... just not sure if zippers are a good or a bad thing!

Maybe I should just not be so tight and get a Think Tank Retrospective 5... is exepensive though!

This is my sons D3100 +18-105 in my Olympus mini messenger. It only has a small amount of branding on the front. It has a few internal card pockets etc as well.

I've had one of these for years, cheap, well designed and well made. Lots of nice features.

Has been great for my M43 kit and now my Fujifilm X-E1 18-55 and 27mm with room to spare for 3rd short lens or flash.

Has pouch for a decent sized drinks bottle, little slip in filter/cap holder, 4 pairs of exterior loops for glasses, gorilla pod etc. Removable padding.

Cost me £15 from Amazon. Delta Fancier 400a. Although I've seen it with different branding (Chinese made) seen it in black/charcoal/green/brown.

Really like mine.

mine has single zip and doesn't have the straps on the underside.

Like the look of that....just ordered one. For £15 you can't go wrong.

Try a matin balade on eBay lovely looking bag available in various sizes. Has a tt vibe without the price.

Want something small - much like the Thinktank retrospective 5 but not as expensive lol!! Hadley digital looks quite nice - but seems a lot for a small bag too!

This looks pretty close!

I have that Domke Bag and I absolutely love it. It has a waxed surface (and you get a supply of wax included so you can re-apply in the future if needed) which gives it a decent element of water proof/resistance.

Like most people on here I've had loads of bags over the years. Eventually settled on Billinghams, I have 5 in varying sizes and use a couple of the Hadley Pro's as normal bags. Although they are expensive the build quality is superb. If your gear outgrows your bag there's always a market for a secondhand Billingham to help finance the next one.I reckon I've bought and sold 4 or 5 on here over the years.
