Hello all,

I'm looking for some recommendations on a small pocket 110 camera ( not an SLR), I don't need a flash ( although it would be nice if it had a hot shoe), It would also be nice if it had a few settings for expose I could use and I would like it all battery less . I don't ask a lot do I !

Thanks all.

Whatever you can find in a charity shop! You might even find some flash cubes for one, although I'm not sure how long their shelf life is/was.

If you don't want to go down the SLR route from Pentax or Minolta then many of the variants from the better know camera makers of the timewill probably be on a par,
look out for the Rollei E110 and the Agfamatics, they tended to get the best out of the tiny 110 negatives.

Just out of interest, why not an SLR?

(The Pentax Auto 110 being very good!)

From memory there were two different types of flash cube, one fired electric with contacts and a battery in the camera, the other fired with a pin hitting a wire in the cube that fired it with pizo? or something similar, they worked under water and could be fired with a screwdriver (natty effects) I.m not sure if many 110's were made with hot shoes, probably a few top of the range models. Might be hard to find now though.
Have you considered on of the several "spy "cameras that were made. Smaller than a 110, much cooler looking, but I'd guess harder to get film for.

There are a couple of interesting threads in this (F&C) section by auntiemaryscanary which explore their exploration of the super miniature formats.

I want it as an everyday carry camera that I can slip into a pocket, I have a couple that were given to me ( Halina) with flash which are quite small but the flash does take up quite a portion of the overall size and the last time I used them I think I only used the flash a couple of times just to see how well it worked.

Here a pic of one of the two ( same model) cameras I have with a few other cameras as size comparison

I don't have a 110 camera here to compare size with my Olympus XA which is trueley pocketable, Rollei and Minox also made a range very small 35mm cameras all capable of excellent results. For everyday use I would take film availability and easy of processing over absolute smallest camera.
If you really do want a 110 camera , Rollei and Agfa mentioned above spring to mind as do Canon and Yashica, I would have thought that any of the more sophisticated 110 cameras will have electronics and need a battery, now long discontinued, though some experimentation with alkaline cells and spacers should get them working.

Good luck with your quest.

I know you said not SLR but this looks v tempting. I'm into Minolta 16's as I slit and reload the cassettes.

@vintageman pointed out this charity in another thread.
