Hi I am looking for a decent small compact camera. i am after two things, small size and good picture quality. The rest like zoom capabilities, fancy look or extra functions are not really relevant. Is there something there for up to £100. I would consider second hand as well.

thanks
Pawel

If you are happy with a fixed lens (at 28mm) then the Ricoh GRD range can be had for under £100 and fits the bill of very small and good IQ.

Have a look at the Canon Ixus 240, a simple tough metal bodied compact.
Very small but has a a sensible zoom range, decent image quality and is WIFI capable. under a £100 on Amazon.

You can get he Canon Ixus 500 at BT Shop for only £69.99 right now. An excellent little camera, great zoom and good in low light. And you can get it in bright red!

If you are lucky you might find an Olympus XZ1 for around that kind of money used :)
I'd go with this, I'd rather have the f1.8 lens and more up to date guts of the XZ1 than the S90, which is now looking pretty tired. That said, the S series are more pleasant to use than the Oly, so depends on your priorities. I've recently replaced my Canon beater with an XZ1. Finding one for a ton will likely prove tough tho, I paid £150 used a month or so ago. Personally I'd pay the extra.
