A family member has asked whether I think a Canon GX7 mark3 would be a good camera to record DJ sets. I have absolutely no idea and can't seem to find any for sale anyway, so does anyone have any good suggestions?

As far as I can tell, the requirements are for a flip out screen and audio input capability. Wi-fi would be nice. I believe the GX7iii will connect to a phone to use as a monitor. Ultimate output will be social media.
They don't want to have separate lenses.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. I've asked about budget and not got an answer back yet.
Thanks for any help!

If sound quality is important, see if they can get a recording from the sound deck, rather than in camera. Then sync the sound up and use the output from the deck rather than the camera, which will be poor quality.

There's a detailed assessment of the GX7 here...

Thanks so much both, and apologies for the late reply.

I will have a read of the link and pass it on to them. I think their plan was to input the sound, but I'm not sure if all cameras have that capability.
