Just seen it and I rarely say this....
It's one of the best films I've seen for a long time.
I only watched it because of all the media hype, and I'm glad I did. I watched the first few minutes and thought 'If I'd have caught this on TV I probably wouldn't have stopped to watch it'...but I carried on and was hooked.
Very well written IMO, very touching, very gritty in the right places...even when it was just 'understood' what was going on (his brother and Latika in the abandoned hotel?), and who didn't recoil with ewwwww at the actor/helicopter scene?
I also thought it was really well cast. The characters were very believable....I normally spot a bit of crapness in acting when I'm watching films, but I didn't see the acting slip.
Seriously. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I really recommend watching it.
PS. Yes, there was a previously closed thread. Don't let this thread descend into petty knickers-in-a-twist-he-said-mean-things-to-me-arguments or I'll whip out the suspension stick
