HI all - hoping for some help here.

Looking to replace my Sony A850 with a smaller system - still want to have interchangeable lenses and resonable autofocus, but just want it to be smaller, and hopefully with an inbuilt flash, although a small external flash would also be fine.

So what options do I have? There seem to be so many - The Pentax Q7 seems to have caught my interest - but are there similar other systems?

Thanks in advance

Their a fair few out their i am using Fuji worth having a look at,also Sony & Olympus,i don't know to much about the Pentax Q7 :)

£1000 would get a toe in the door as far as the Fuji X series go if you're looking at new and could possibly get you in even deeper if 2nd hand. However, a few quid more would get you into X-T1 territory and would be my choice but I fully understand that budgetary restraints may need to be considered. IMO, the X-Pro1 delivers comparable quality to SLRs but the X-T1 adds a LOT to the handling experience.

Is that budget for the camera and a single lens, or do you hope to get a body and several lenses for that amount?

There are a couple of names I would look at, Sony and Fuji for APSC and Olympus and Panasonic for M4/3.

If you don't mind buying Grey Panamoz have the XT1 and 18-55 package for £960 when you pay by BT.

I made the move from DSLR recently and went with a Sony A6000. Amazing wee camera, but when I saw the Panamoz price for the XT1 I couldn't resist it and have one on order at the moment.

So if you do decide to go the Sony route, there'll be a very lightly used A6000 appearing in the classifieds very soon..... ;-)

Sony a77ii. In built flash. Use all your current lenses? Not that much smaller though!

you are thinking small if the little Qs have caught your interest, I had the original Q great little camera but out of all the mirrorless its the furthest away from a SLR replacement, you have to look at the Q as a premium compact with interchangeable lenses, I do not bracket them with the Oly/Pana/Sony/Fuji mirrorless systems..

a grand will give you a solid start to most if the current mirrorless systems, get in town and have a fondle they are all pretty close close image quality and AF speed wise so handling and operation are where it gets personal.

I wouldn't invest heavily in Pentax Q, I can see them either turning the Q system into fixed lens premium to rival Fuji X20 etc.. where I think it will do very well or they start again with a larger sensor so the current lenses will be rendered useless.

I have been mulling the exact same deal over! It's a huge saving and they do state on the website that ALL warranties will be honoured. I'd be interested to know how you get on Greg.

I have dealt with Panamoz before on a couple of occasions and also had repairs carried out under warranty with no issues.

They're a fantastic company to deal with, I really can't fault them.
