Slow CS6

Have noticed over the last month or so that CS6 is running slower than usual and have goggled as to how to speed it up. Have done what I read, like shutting down unnecessary backround programmes etc which did help but was wondering is there a way to disable plugins and reactivate them when needed to see if that would help. Do have quite a few so would appreciate your comments on this plus anything else you think will help.

It isn't quite the answer you may be looking for but how much RAM does your machine have? I would also recommend and SSD for OS+CS6 which will help with application performance.

I use CS5 and noticed a great improvement when I moved to an SSD drive.

Thanks for the reply's, first thing I looked at was the RAM which is 4gb, took it to my local computer shop and they told me it was at it's max, could not add more. I have only had this computer for about 4 years so I was a little annoyed at that, ssd drives are quite expensive so will have to think about that or put that amount to a new machine. Still think if there was a way of disabling the plugins it would help.

Ideally you would want around 8GB of ram.
