Iam thinking of buying a sling strap, make as yet unknown my question is, i have a gripped nikon d90 if using a sling strap does this interfere with the handling when used in portrait mode. although this is my first post i have been a long time lurker, thanks in advance

as noboby has replied i take it their that when holding the camera in portrait position the base of carabina does not stick in your hands

I have a BR, when im outside you just shift your hands to avoid the clasp as you would expect.

I use BR straps and have exactly that problem when using a grip. It's not at all comfortable.

Sorry izzy, only just seen your post.

I used a BlackRapid strap on my gripped D90 and absolutely no trouble with it getting in the way.

Cheers :D

I use sling straps on gripped Canon 5D3 and a 7D and while my hand covers the connection I don't find it difficult or uncomforable shooting in portrait mode.

Yes it does, it is not ideal but also not a big problem. Just shift your hand a little.

I use a Sun Snipper, No problem

I use the BR rs-7, it does get in the way sometimes if its attached to the camera. Most if the time I use this strap attached to the tripod foot on a lens, it works much better like that.

thanks for the replies.when i return to the uk on holiday next month i will purchase a sling strap
