Hello there,
i recently received a few slides, they are pictures of many operas in the royal opera house in covent garden of differant scenes and acts.
Also i have pictures of the royal pavillion brighton and chichester catherdral.
and also a few pictures of paintings from the tate gallery George lambert and J.M.W Turner.
They seem to be professional photos and are in little card holders, the ones for the opera house are printed with the opera name and the act and scene name on them aswell as a description of the photo. The pavillion ones and the catherdral ones look to be of a collection and are numbered.

i just want to learn more about them, and if there is more infomation on others websites that could be reccomendid would be helpful
thanks
nick

I can remember (not so long ago) that tourist attractions would sell sets of slides as souveniers. Slides would also have been produced for media use. The Tate and Opera ones could be either of these.

Every slide I've seen that was processed by a professional lab was numbered on the mount, that way you could identify the order in which the slides were shot, match them against any notes or keep them in sequence.
