Anyone with any experience of slide projectors? I would like one that would be able to cast a bright sharp image of at least 6ft tall by whatever that would be in the horizontal ratio.

The only experience of them i have is back in the 80s with the school projector that could just about cough out a blurred image a couple of feet in size. Can anyone suggest a model that would suit?

The requirement for a 6 foot image doesnt seem excessive and I think most projectors will manage that, although you may have to project onto a wall rather than a screen. I have a Rollei projector that seems pretty powerful though I havent used it for a while

They are pretty cheap now so you can buy a good brand

ok cool thanks :) i'll keep an eye open on the bay.

The Kodak Carousel's were the stalwart of the slide presentation world, solid and reliable and you could also get various lenses for them that would give you options in projection size.

If you were anywhere near Edinburgh I could lend you a couple of Kodak Carousels to try out. Bit heavy for posting though.

thanks for the offer :) it is a little too far though ;)

I've got an old Leitz Pradovit Colour (?) somewhere that I bought new, no idea if the bulb still works, but I remember pretty decent images of that sort of size. You do need some distance, though, and a relatively dark room for good contrast, AFAICR...

I'd really like to get it working again, but I suspect it's not compatible with my OH... :(
