Recently I have gone back to shooting some rolls of Velvia but stupidly sold my Nikon Coolscan a year ago, so was after any recommendations of firms that scan individual slides onto DVD?

Any recommendations?

I used Peak Imaging to process and no doubt you'll all suggest I should have used them :)

Anybody else?

Ta,
neil

Nobody I can recommend really neil.

I would suggest that if you can find somebody close to you it would be preferable to chancing it with her majestys royal mail!

There are a couple or more on ebay offering scanning services. I'm currently having a batch of velvia 120s done by one of them and as yet I haven't had them returned so cannot comment on the quality.

what format are we scanning
what resolution do we want
how many
what is the end product

it would be easier to point out the options for a one off scan job with these questions answered, no doubt the next roll will be developed and scanned by the same lab.

what format, 35mm, 120, 5x4...

You should decide the size and res of the finished print before spending a pile on scanning.
No point paying for 6000dpi scans if the print is only A4.

I was thinking of having some of my sheets sent to BPD photech to be scanned. But im a little unsure of the quality. I have been waiting for reccommendations of places to get my stuff scanned also

Peak Imaging are the guys in my opinion, fast, reliable, good quality, not too expensive! :)

Ive used

http://www.bayeux.co.uk/

They are set in central london, but I spoke to them once and apparently they get stuff sent to them from across the UK?

Some of the stuff they do can be a tad bit pricy, but as a student they gave me a 10 or 12% discount! Really nice people inside! AND! once when i came to pick up a bunch of prints, someone was picking up some huge FREIDLANDER prints for him/a gallery representing him!

though that might just exite me...

I got them to do scanning for me once (35mm B+W) they did a few sets of film for free (they are really nice!) and then I payed for a few more. I got good results, they even did dust and dirt removal from the scans etc.

They are quite pricy for the scanning though. For film developing I found out that they are cheaper than boots or snappy snaps for 1-day processing and are better quality!
