Hi all,

I bought some cheapo extension tubes from eBay (they haven't arrived yet), with the intention of using them with my 20D/50mm f1.8. \o/

These extension tubes are not the AF/metering type. I've just realised my 50mm f1.8 doesn't have an aperture ring (duh!), so how on earth will I be able to change the aperture? Obviously f1.8 ain't really enough!

I don't know what to do. Perhaps I'll need to buy and EF-M42 mount and get a cheapo 50mm M42 lens instead, and use that with the extension tubes???

Help:(

Quite easy to set the aperture :)

Fit the lens normally to the camera. Choose your fstop in aperture priority or manual mode. Press the DoF preview button (the button you have never used before low down on the front ;) . While still pressing that button remove the lens - it stays set to the aperture.

Oh and the 20D meters fine with no connection to the lens. Tubes and useable apertures do make things dark though so plenty of light will help you focus. You focus by moving nearer your subject as the focus ring does not do much.

Cheers, sound like all will be ok then!

Thanks for the reply.;)
