I tried something I've not tried before and thought the assembled might be interested in my findings.
I've got a 580exII and two 430exII flashes, but only 2 elinchrom receivers and a trasmitter atm due to losing the third receiver.
So conventional choice (A) would be to use the 580 as master on camera, and the 430s as slaves as long as I wanted an on camera flash, and have line of sight to the 430s.
Choice (B) would be to trigger 2 of the 3 flashes with the skyports.
So today I wired up my 580ex II to a skyport, designated it as master, then set the 430s to slave, and that way managed to use all three flashes.
Brief observations are that the 580 only seems to trigger the other flashes when set to e-ttl, though I wanted to shoot in manual. The 430s were set to manual.
Sync speed seems to drop dramatically, 1/80 and slower only.
Not and ideal setup, but it might be of some use to somebody.
