Yeah, you can use it for IMs, IM conferencing, sending files etc. You can also, obviously use it to make Skype to Skype calls and you can also have "landline" number so that people can phone you. This doesn't even need to be in the same city, or even country that you are -you can be in London, but have a New York phone number.

whats the cost for that?

I just want a freeeeeeeeeeee IM and file sending service that works tbh.......net calls sound good though

:)

I think it's all free if your skype - skype. Even if you make skype to landline calls it's really cheap. A 40 min call from Canada to a UK landline cost me about 36p!
The only problem I found with skype (with calls anyway) is that I either get disconnected or get 'hung' calls. If you haven't figured out - I have skype but only tend to use it when I'm away :)

It's all free, except the calls to landlines. A "normal" phone number for incoming calls was, when I had mine, £30/year :)

I've had skype before but this is what i don't understand. How does someone call you from there mobile? What number do i give them?

I thought none of it was free accept calling computers

Does it still have the stupidly small webcam viewer?

It used to be really good on sound quality and video
