oh come on, that was as vauge as vauge itself..
But now people will expect a name reveal at the end? I suppose it does now say spoiler alert but hey.
How to ruin an unexpected twist!
viv1969 said:Unexpected? You seriously didn't see that coming from a mille off?????
TriggerHappy said:I'm surprised anything in James Bond can be regarded as unexpected. The plot is as formulaic as they come!
No I didn't! There was absolutely nothing in the movie (until they entered 'that' office) that gave it away unless I missed something?
OK, maybe just me then. Different folks get different things from a film which I suppose is why they are so subjective. I saw that one coming, but didn't get the "skyfall" thing 'til it whacked me in the mouth. :bonk:
how did you see it coming though? What gave it away exactly?
Well Joe...if I give away the exact moment that I thought "ohhhhh, she's...." Then I'd get verbally battered on here for another spoiler, even though it says spoiler in the title. I can live without the grief lol.
no this is a spoiler thread now so its no problem, just write spoiler alert above like I did.
I'm interested to know what did it
Ricardodaforce said:Overhyped and over-rated. It's good, but nothing special.

Just home from seeing it and I'm slightly underwhelmed if I'm honest. I think it's more that the James Bond formula just isn't my thing than anything else though.
Some of the special effects whilst driving the motorbikes seemed a little dicey. It never actually looked as though they were on scene in the close-ups.
Just saw Jack Whitehall describe it as Jason Bourne meets Home Alone![]()

HUGE SPOILER ALERT...AVERT YOUR EYES....GO LOOK AT KITTENS IN THE PET THREAD!!!!!
OK I'll bite. When she gave up field work to go work as an assistant for Mallory (quite obviously not the ******** we were supposed to think he was...and the next M).... I instantly thought "Moneypenny"
Were we watching the same film?
She came off field duty and into Mallory's office after about 35 minutes...shortly after his first appearance.

No gadgets (other than taking the p out of the idea of gadgets), not much exotic locations, a few throwaway "Bond fan" jokes, really non-threatening not-very-super-baddie.
Overhyped and not what was promised with "Best Bond ever" - guess the critics are all on a three line whip to big it up or not get invited back again.
I think what was really needed (and was what I was lead to believe they had done) was to wind the clock back and actually do a Cold War era Bond again - which is where he came from.
Mind you, I suspect most of the audience wouldn't have understood what that was even about, judging by some of the things I've heard the under 30's say recently!

Thanks for your inciteful addition
Ricardodaforce said:Dunno why you're so surprised. I've been a Bond fan all my life. I'm currently working my way through the BD box set. I liked Skyfall, but it wasn't anything great. Certainly not the best Bond film, and certainly over-hyped.
