A bit random but I'm trying to find a skydiving videographer that can jump in Lancashire. I'm doing a tandem skydive and wanted to choose a decent videographer. I did a jump a few years back and the video was awful. I've tried contacting centres for a list but they're not massively helpful.

I'm just looking for someone who shoots and edits in a modern style. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I've not done it before but if you pay for my skydive I'll gladly do the rest of the work for free.

EDIT: let me clarify, I've not shot a skydive or skydived before, I've shot plenty of live events though.

:nuts:can't work out how serious you are

but you know how much of a bad idea that is :cuckoo:, make interesting viewing if anyone would actually let you do it:suspect:

If someone is willing to pay me to film an event, I'll never say no, so long as both parties know what they are getting. I've shot plenty of footage for corporate clients and I'm open to new challenges. Feel free to impart some wisdom my way though if you feel like sharing.

OK - some quick wisdom, seeing as you're serious. To take a video camera on a skydive in the UK you need a to hold minimum of an FAI 'C' licence as a skydiver. Thats at least 200 jumps, without worrying even a little about the video ability. So I wasn't sure, never having skydived before if you were serious. I'm not sure that you seemed to be is a good thing . That they'll never let you onto the plane probably is

As a note, I was aware of the requirements for a qualified skydiving videographer I'm just struggling to find one whose work I like. There must be a gap in the market for someone in the UK to become a creative videographer because most seem very similar with cheesy music and poor editing :-(

I've contacted 2 centres and been told to look at their website or youtube which I had already done!

I had no idea about the legal requirements, I assumed I would be jumping in tandem so thank you for clearing that up. As for the rest of your post, you come across quite rude, no need for that

I do a bit of skydiving now and again. Most DZs (drop zones) have their own photographers : videographers. They are just skydivers who also enjoy photography. Most have both a camera and video rig on their helmet. I hope you enjoy your first jump, if you do consider a AFF courses.
