Wales Skomer accommodation

I was thinking of going to Skomer again this year for the puffins. However things have changed since I'm last went 8 years ago. The ferry booking is now online but most of the best dates are sold out. The B&B I used has been taken over and no longer offers accommodation. There are a couple of places in Marloes but very few other places.

Any recommendations? (Not camping and not too basic.)

As much as I would like to stay on the island I think it is sold out for this year and as all the rooms seem to be shared I couldn’t inflict my snoring on others.

I live by there but don’t really know any b&b’s. As an option you could look at the TY hotel in Milford Haven which is then about 20-30 mins away

I booked an Airbnb about a half an hour away from the port. There are loads. We are looking at going mid-April which is not ideal. Does anyone happen to have experience of going at this time and would there be puffins there at that time?

We are looking at going mid-April which is not ideal. Does anyone happen to have experience of going at this time and would there be puffins there at that time?

I haven’t been on the island in April although we did have a boat trip around the island several years ago. Puffins were around, flying close to the sea but I gather it takes a while for them to nest so mid April is probably a bit early, although it is good for flora.
