Hi,

Sorry but may be a silly question, i normally take child shots using a hilite for friends and family as a way to learn and improve my skills.

A friend loves some shots she has seen and asked if i could do a shoot with her child, difference being the child is dark skin. Would i need to make any changes to my technique? Love the idea of learning with a wider variety of skin colour just dont want to cock it all up.

Thank you

Lucky you ;) Dark skin makes things a lot easier, not that you can take liberties - don't blitz the background, it should be only just over exposed, like 1/2 to one stop. But dark hair etc is more tolerant.

Most difficult is fair skin, blond hair and white tops that just vanish into the white background.
