I've just seen this post on Facebook - not sure if it's of any interest to anyone? I 'follow' PhotoPlus so got the update. Obviously only open to Canon owners though...

Any PhotoPlus readers out there who can ski and are free between 28 November–1 December? Pop an email to adam.waring@futurenet.com, including your age, location and Canon kit owned, and all will be revealed…

I'm a skiing photographer but would like to know more before passing details to an unknown entity!

I wish!

I have been skiing since 1968 and a Canon user (and PhotoPlus subscriber).

Crocked my knee .....

I'm crap at skiing otherwise would probably throw my hat in the ring too.
I was crap at skiing.... in 1968, 69, 70,71...... It all came together when I went to work in Munich in 1976.... the ski resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen was close by [emoji1]

Wow, you persevered! I don't think my school skiing trip to Austria 30 years ago is going to cut the mustard.

At least you did it!

My first trip... well the journey was an adventure. We left on 27 December.

Train from London Victoria to Dover

Boat to Boulogne

Wagon Lit sleeper carriage train to Basel in Switzerland (mad night)

2 hour wait in Basel -time for breakfast (coffee cheese and a bread roll) then the Basel yo Innsbruck tain with a dog leg engine runaround to climb the train over the mountain.

Then on arrival in Innsbruck a coach trip fot the final run into our ski resort of Oberperfus..... 10 days later all the way back again. With a strangely orange sun tan.

Price for everything... £38!

Currency restrictions - max £25 could be taken.

The skiing was easier than the journey

I was hooked and started saving, doing odd jobs, paper round to save for the next winter!

Wow! What an adventure- that's amazing. I spent three days in Dover during the ferry strike and had £2 to last me three days - I was only meant to be there for an hour!

Those were the days!

And if you tell youngsters about such things these days ...[emoji56]

It was an adventure though!
