What no thread?

Quite a game today. Good to see 2 teams trying for the win at the end, but a shame no triple crown or grand slam up for play for either team.

Well, the table certainly has an unexpectedted look... First draw in 40 years... Can only be good news for England and France!

I have the great misfortune to live in Wales where people seem obsessed by it.

Some good games so far, very surprised to see England top of the pile after the 1st week as I thought they seemed poor and slow.

They are all trying to learn how to play southern hemisphere style. But lack the acceleration, urgency and power and lines, to break through a defence.
England were just about good enough to win their game. But it might be the last.
Italy showed the greatest improvement, and made France look ordinary.
Wales and Ireland defended to self destruction.

I doubt if, after the first week, only one side can get a triple crown has happened before? Although after watching the Scotland-England game, I find it unlikely that any side will take a triple crown. England squeezed past a poor and unimaginative Scotland side and will get a very different challenge against France, Ireland and Wales, the latter 2 sides should have nothing to fear when playing at Twickenham. Ireland to top the table at the end of it all.

Sad news today that the great Paul O'Connell has been forced to stop playing rugby on medical advice.

The word "legend" is bandied around far too frequently for my liking, but he truly was. Even when he was the "Captain", he led completely by example - for his Club, Country and for the B&I Lions.

I hope he stays in the sport, doing something useful (though that probably means working with the Irish National team, which can only be bad news for the rest of us ;) )

Looks like the Beeb have snapped POC up as a pundit - for this weekend, at least.
I think his talents would be wasted if he opts for a media role.

Think it's been poorly advertised on the tv in comparison to the World Cup, poor show really

You don't live in Wales, then???? ;)

POC always reminded me of Martin Johnson with the way he played and lead. A hard b@@@@@d on the pitch and a gentleman off it.
It would be nice to think Dylan may develop the same way.
Do football fans have heroes that play for teams they don't support?

Absolutely agree. I just hope no one does to POC what they did to MJ and "assume", be cause he was a great captain that he'd make an equally great coach. What a disaster that turned out to be. :( No one in the England set-up came out of that with ANY glory, IMO.

It would be nice to think Dylan may develop the same way.
He wouldn't be the first player who responded to captaincy and upped his game as a result.

... football fans ...
Sorry, What are these??? ;)

Not for 1:20...

Oh well, comfortable for England in the end, but still work to do to reach a good limit I think.

New younger guys introduced looked good I thought, big, physical, mobile - just what we need.

Think the score line was a little flattering but a decent performance

Looking better now! Come on England! Great saving tackle in the 66th minute, I hope!

I think Brown is VERY lucky to have not picked up a yellow card - even a red. I would;t be surprised if he was cited.

England v Wales in 2 weeks looking tasty now......

No, he was aiming at ball, ref and tmo looked at it. If they hadn't then citation more likely IMHO.
They did, but at his 3rd attempt, having already connected with Murray's face...... I'm not sure. He could still be cited.

If you don't want feet near your head then don't hold on to the ball with it inches from your face - push it down to your gut or out at arms reach - hell even go for squeeze ball to prevent the turnover

Brown wasn't looking where he was kicking so it could still be seen as reckless. Nice to see the Irish coach saying he thought it was an accident. Pretty sure that if it was the other way round Eddie Jones would have plenty to say as would Mike Brown who is an arse anyway.

On second thoughts it might be better to leave him hungry? ..........................

Hope this turns out to be the spectacle everyone is hoping for. Think it will be a close game with the edge going to ? ;)

Home wins in all 3 ties this weekend?

First, "Come on Ireland"

Well done Ireland. Not a game for the neutrals unfortunately. 73 points scored but I found it boring
