Hi,

i have been working on our wedding package prices lately and the last 4 quotes sent out have resulted in bookings. The thing that worries me is are we maybe too cheap as this can also have a negative effect.

if you have a couple of mins i would appreciate it if you would have a look at our wedding portfolio here http://www.christinehoadphotography.co.uk/portfolio.asp
and give some feedback on it and if you think the prices below are in line with whats in the portfolio.

i hope this is in the correct section because i couldnt really see anywhere else to put it.

I like the site very nice and simple, what Flash script is used for that setup in your portfolio? i am looking for something like that for me site.
I would say your pricing is prity dam good as well. :D
 
not sure what script is used as a friend does all my site work but ill try and find out for you

The prices do seem rather keen
What is the "most bought" package?
My brother got married a few months ago ( same area as you / me)
pre wedding shots getting in the car etc
He was gone before the "reception" started
and one "traditional" album ( not sure how many images were in that though)
cost circa £1000
 
Prices do seem cheap considering what you are offering in the packages. A pre wedding studio session included :eek:

Also as there are two of you shooting from getting ready to the first dance; that could be quite a few hours. Add in PP time, fuel etc and it starts to look a bit of a bargain!!

At the end of the day though if you can make a living at those prices and the clients are happy with the results, then what more is there to say :)

Oh I like your site by the way. Its good to see flash images that load quickly :thumbs:

thanks for the responses.

our most popular package is @ £750 and the majority of the time it totals up to a spend of around 900 to £1000 after family reprints etc.

I didnt really want to aim too high with the price range at first as we have only been doing photography as a part time earner for 2 years and as a hobby for 7 so the money making side of it were still fairly new to.
 
As an amatuer I'll just give an honest oppinion rather than a professional one :)

Your site looks great and isn't difficult to navigate at all. The only thing I think it's missing is an "about me/us" page, it's nice to put something like a personal statement or a paragraph explaining about you and your business. It doesn't need to be an essay just something that reaches out to potential customers to show the human side of your business

I'll also just echo that your prices do seem a little on the low side, not awfully low but it certainly wouldn't hurt charging a bit more.
 
maybe £50-£100 more on each package espically as you include studio shoot as well
 
i think the general feeling is were a little on the cheap side. i have just done some advertising which includes some package prices so ill have to hold fire on a price hike at the mo but its definately something ill look at in a couple of months i think.
