just bought a lovely sirui am225 travel tripod from a member on here .. one thing is puzzling me though on the top end side there is a threaded hole in the can only presume its to take accessories .. but which ones and if so what are they called ???? be nice if I could fit a off camera flash or a clamp for macro subjects ????

Hi Jeff, I think I know what you are referring to. The last thing like that I ever purchased was called an 'articulating magic arm' and it was made by Neewer.

I also own a AM225 and never noticed the threaded hole until you just mentioned it.
It seems to be a 1/4" tapped hole so now have to find something to use with it :)

Update on this , yes it’s a standard accessory thread , looking through e.bay at the articulated arms most seem to have a largish round screw assist knob on them which would make it difficult to use in practice due to the minute size of the tripod .and a lot appear to be ( allegedly ) to heavy . BUT I have found though not yet ordered some bendy rods on Temu that just have thread at either end .they look ideal . I only want one to hold a small LED light while using the flash from above . Will update further once purchased and delivered
