As anyone come across any (preferably free) plug-ins to create an HDR effect from a single image in LR4?

You don't need plugins for an HDR effect as these YouTube tutorials show you.

I wouldn't call it a 'fake HDR' or 'pseudo HDR' as the videos do. If you've remapped the tones captured in a photo to the available tones in an image on the monitor, then it's a High Dynamic Range image, IMO. Purists may feel free to scratch my eyes out :)

I saw one a while back it was something like this.
Highlights all the way left
Shadows all the way right
Clarity well to the right
Saturation and viberance to the right (don't go mad)
Blacks tweek to suit.

Thanks for this. It sounds like one I have found on You Tube.

You mean a bad HDR effect. (imho) ;) Because on good HDR you can't normally tell that it's been used.

Good point! May be I haven't been looking at good examples, because I can usually tell when HDR has been used. It gives a hyper-real effect.
