Sin of having a big camera!

I don't want to give up the rights that matter more to the point, some rights are more significant than others. the link below is a few years out of date but funny none the less.

Personally i find this English right that states "it is legal to kill a scotsman within the walls of york, but only if he is carrying a bow" to be far more worrying than cctv...mind you I am a scotsman.

I've come across the same thing, but it was Chester, a Welshman, you had to use a longbow and it only applied between sunset and sunrise. Of course, I'm a Scot too, so I'm not too worried about this...............

I agree, why just York?

Your either kidding or really dont like us...it is a good question though. You would assume at the time when Scotland was invading northern England Scots would have been killed on sight wherever we were.

Might be because of this (quote from wiki)

"In January 1298, Philip IV of France had signed a truce with Edward that did not include Scotland, thereby deserting his Scots allies. Edward returned to England from campaigning in France in March and called for his army to assemble. He moved the seat of government to York and on 3 July he invaded Scotland, intending to crush Wallace and all those daring to assert Scotland's independence."

Ah the good old days, this is how they occupied themselves before they had TV.....it was either sit and listn to the wife nag in a thatched barn or go kill each other...i reckon if we didn't have TV we'd opt for the latter aswell :D
