I won't ask why your Christmas present in either 3 months late, or 9 months early. But that ice cream looks yummy - very yummy indeed.
OK, now to try and concentrate on the photo. That ice cream look yum ... sorry ... the composition is excellent, with the detail at the side of the mixer arm leading the eye into that yummy ice cream. There's a nice highlight on the rim of the yummy ice cream container and the colours are muted but work well together and.... oh b****r it! All I can think bout is that yummy ice cream.

it was 3 months late, I did unwrap one on Christmas day but it was transit damaged (quite spectacularly) so had to go back and there was no stock anywhere in the UK to get a replacement.Nice composition and lighting - very clean overall effect.
I WANT SOME ICE CREAM!
Interesting... as Jean said.. either late or very very early... however... It's clean (excepting the ice cream bits of course) nicely composed and well lit, good details too...
Now I hope you made enough of that Ice Cream for all of us
Funnily enough, guess what I had for Christmas too !!!!!
I haven't used mine yet, but this has inspired me to give it a try this weekend and that mint choc chip just might be my first recipe
Enough about icecream though.
The shot works well. The composition is just off centre enough to give it some balance, the steel is crisp and clean and the white background sets it off well. I'm trying to work out if the white is part of the machine, your worktop or something you've PP'd in.
I like that, the colourless exterior really makes the ice cream colour stand out.
Composition is nice, I'm assuming the white surround is the top of the machine, shame the bottom left is slightly blown.
Great shot!
The candid I would say is a minor crow barbut the idea is to test yourself every week and the lighting was a test for this theme and is very nice.
Produce...... drrroooooooooool.....sluuuuurp.
I really like your produce shot - I like the colours and the simple composition - I think it would be even better if the rim near the bottom of the frame was sharp.

Absolutely love the different take on Candid....now why on earth didn't I think to do something similar with my friend whose name happens to be Candy
......would have had trouble fitting her on a tupperware to backlight her though........Simon I have to have a slight disagree with Jean on the eye being led into the picture.
IMHO if the arm was at the bottom of the frame then one could say that it is leading the eye into the picture. However as the arm is at the top of the picture I see it as taking the eye out of the picture.

It depends where the eye starts. If you were scrolling down onto the picture as I was, my eyes started off at the top of the picture. Simples. Nope it's the top of the ice-cream maker it's one with the freezer unit built in to it so it's quite large.

And apart from that, I really like the composition in this shot and the bit of reflection in the side of the box.
