Simon's 52 in 2022

I agree, the man adds to it, and I like the natural framing of the water through the middle. It looks like a lovely spot!
Thanks Bee. Yes it’s a nice spot. An old quarry comprising two lakes. Loads of wildlife.

Very nice Simon.

First one is my favourite for all the reasons above. Looks like a lovely spot.

Week 29 - Handles

One of those weeks when I was full of good intentions, and then before you know it, it's Monday afternoon with a couple of busy days ahead and I find myself running out of time.

Door handles. I've been trying to find some door handles to replace those we have on our internal doors that are way passed their best. It's been an absolute nightmare as I can't find any that either match the designs, or the size or are reasonably affordable. I had a drawer full of possibles. Here's a couple with one of the old tatty ones.

Here's the handle of my golf trolley

My walking poles handles - I've gone with this one for my post, as it's clean and a little different to the others which are perhaps more predictable.

And, then, staring me in the face in my garage, are some of my my gardening tools.....

Nice clean shot but I do like the last one.
You've posted a good set of options.

Thanks Peter. I almost posted the last one, but I thought the slightly off-horizontal bricks may annoy people - poor technique on my part, rushing a shot again :p

Good set Simon I like your chosen one and the last one of the garden implements.

There's something about the last shot for me too.

I'm with you on the clean shot. Simple but effective.
Thank you both - it was 50/50
It's fascinating to hear how people see and think about different shots! :)
I guess if we all went with the same shot all the time this hobby would be pretty dull!

Nice selection. I like your chosen shot and am a little curious how you got them to stay there :) I do love my walking poles. Hope to get back using them again soon.

Thanks Bee..
ah, the trick is…..I shot them on the floor! On a large sheet of white plastic

Week 30 - Dusty

A disappointing entry from me this week. I had a few thoughts, but opportunities and time has got/will get the better of me this week. Additionally, it's lamped down with rain since yesterday, so all the outside dust has gone (at least temporarily).

This is a shot of a dusty footpath on part of the Wales Coastal path near a place called Fontygary in the Vale of Glamorgan I took on Friday.

Oh I wish we had some rain. It looks like it may miss us :( The paths around here are similarly dusty and I fear for the birds who have to dig for their food.

This meets the brief and composition wise, I like all the leading lines to the gate - even the overhead ones!

Thanks Bee - the overhead lines were an additional bonus!!!

I hadn’t noticed the power lines until Bebop pointed out, now inevitably I can’t ignore them! However they do add rather than subtract from the picture

No rain here apart from a few drops, loads of dusty paths as well.
Nice blue sky to complement the hedge and those power cables, would not have spotted them without the help of eagle eyed @Bebop

Pete

That looks dusty. Amazing how envious you can be when people talk of too much rain! Still dry as a bone over my side of the country and zilch in the forecast.

Thanks Helen. Rain again here currently…….

Looks dusty enough to me Simon. Wish I hadn't read the earlier posts about the power lines, now I can't stop seeing them... :D

Week 31 - Food

busy week away on holiday and not much time/opportunity for this weeks challenge.
so, here is a straight out of camera shot of a pumpkin at Scolton Manor.

Reddest pumpkin EVER! Nice shot.

Well spotted and good thinking Simon.
I've never seen one that red before.

Cheers Peter. There were a bunch of varieties growing there, but this stood out by a country mile. Not the biggest, but the colour was amazing!
