Simon, The B&W does hide a lot of things. Clever idea of having the water filling the bucket.
Not Sure I would have electrics that close to water, even with IP67 or what ever.

I was a bit nervous about the proximity of the tap, but the electrician (who I've used several times before and trust) was fine and said it's not an issue......

Week 4 - Bottle

So many good images on this theme posted already this week! Had a few ideas, but none so far have worked out the way I wanted apart from this first one of a diffuser. It's not perfect (I'm still trying to locate/source a good background - trip to the craft shop tomorrow maybe...) but hopefully it ticks this week's box.

The second shot is more a tongue in cheek nod to this week's theme, taken on a rather wonderful cruise to the Caribbean way back in March 2017. This was taken on Great Bay Beach in St Maarten.

New - Golf is a game I could never get the hang of, I'm blaming bring left handed and using a mate's right hand irons. Product shots are tricky and you're right about trying to find somewhere the light is a benefit.

Old - Out of the two identical images I do prefer the mono you went with as your main image, the colour version has a bit too many colours going on. I do like what you seen in the falling grave stones, they are definitely supporting each other.

Receptacle - I like the zoom effect although I think the gets lost in the mono version with just a vertical water stream. It did look slightly off horizontally

Bottle(s) - I know what you mean about trying to find backgrounds, I have similar materials in black and white where you see the fine mesh pattern. Maybe having the bottle further from the background would diffuse it a bit.

I think you've done really well with your main shot. I understand the pain of having the right background, but it looks perfect to me. I keep thinking I need to buy something as it's always a struggle. The black works really well and the bit of colour in the liquid really adds to it too.

As for the other shot, I wish I was there! Looks glorious.

Week 5 - Sanpper's Choice
I was full of good intentions this week, as we’ve been away at Center Parcs. However a combination of factors some within my control, and some without has meant that I haven’t managed to get as many decent images as I’d hoped. So here’s a few this week so far.

Week 6 - Alley(s)

Quite a lot of back lane alleys (or gitty's as we sometimes call them in our family) around here, particularly around terraced houses. Here's a selection taken today in Penarth, a small town just outside Cardiff.

Penarth alley 1
A typical lane/alley/gitty between rows of terraced houses. Unkempt, overhanging trees, leaning walls and rubbish/litter including the ubiquitous mattress. I've added quite a heavy vignette to try and push the focus more to the centre of the frame.

More or less the same shot as above, but in contrasty B&W without the vignette. I think this is my preferred shot of the set.

A B&W of an alley (well steps between houses, so a bit of a shoehorn) with Cardiff Bay beyond with the Wales Millennium Centre and the Senedd above the telegraph pole.

An alley/path connecting the top of Penarth town with the promenade. I wasn't going to shoot this, but as I passed it I saw the man walking his dog and just managed to capture them before they disappeared, adding some interest to the shot.

A heavily contrasted shot of an alley leading to some houses. I was mostly taken by the sign "Berkley Drive". It might have been once, but it ain't now!
