Anyone know what is the best SIM cutting tool for turning a normal SIM into a micro SIM?

Also where to purchase said tool?

what's wrong with scissors?
 
Not sure of make but got mine off eBay and worked a treat.
 
If you or a friend have a micro sim already, this guide is pretty handy and shows that it can be done using only scissors and knives (though I'm not sure why he didn't just use the scissors for all of it) http://www.solutios.com/simcutting/ If not I would find the sizes and make (or just find) a template and use the above method! Cheaper than buying special tools!

I have done the Google/eBay search thing already, I was kind of after some personal recommendations.

Also with my eye sight not at its best I would prefer the cutter as opposed to relying on my peepers and a knife/scissors
 
Good sharp knife and a chopping board :-)
 
What's wrong with asking your phone company to send you a new sim?
 
Cutting is rather precise, the tool is less risky than scissors.
 
If you go onto the giffgaff site community, there are micro sims on offer there.
 
Did mine with a pair of small electrical side cutters, just a little care needed. I can now use my virgin SIMM in my iPad.
 
The giff gaff sim is full size but you can push the micro sim out the middle. This might only be on new sims but it's definitely the case as I have received 2 recently.

GiffGaff themselves do not do micro SIM's, certain members of the forum do them and GiffGaff pass your details onto them (which is one thing I would not be happy with) and all they do is cut a normal SIM down themselves - Which is something I can do for myself without giving out any of my personal details to some random unknown.

received my gifgaf sim card the other day, the micro sim just snaps out of the normal sim.

want me to send a picture ?
 
I bought on from Amazon. Tried cutting an old sim and messed up. However when I got a new phone for my wife the chap a carphone warehouse had the same one or looked very similar to cut the sim and that worked fine.
 
Just checked my GiffGaff SIM and there is no micro SIM slot.

I will either have to get a cutter or see if one of the phone shops will do it for me

Before I got a gifgaf sim i just cut it with scissors and used a small file to refine the shape works fine just don't cut the chip and you'll be fine unless your not happy in which case most carphone warehouses will do it for you.

I also suggested a picture to show you how it snaps out, try ordering a new gifgaf sim they may send you a newer one.
 
seriously? why would you spend money on a special tool when scissors do the job perfectly? If it's you're eyesight, surely you know someone who can see well that could do it?

My GiffGaff SIM is not even 2 months old so I would say it is fairly "new"

A few quid is hardly going to break the bank
 
Just send Giff Gaff s message and see if they'll send out a new Sim with the push out micro sim?

Believe it or not it would seem the only way to get them to do that is to say your phone/SIM was stolen - They then send out a new SIM card with all your details/credit etc. on it

Also the problem with that is if they just send out an ordinary SIM again without the push out part.

Anyway by the end of the day I will have a my micro SIM as I will need it to put into my nice new shiny "i" device which I get today :D
