Has anyone here got much experience shooting at Silverstone and where the best places to stand are?

I`ve only been there once or twice before and that was a while ago before even picking up a camera. I have been given track side access for Trax show this coming Sunday so would like to be as prepared as possible for where the best places are to get some good track action of the public track time and the drift demos.

Are you, inside the fence? Village would be interesting, tight corners so a slower part of the circuit.
If you're outside the fence but have inner circuit access then again around village there are several tv camera spots with gaps in the fencing for the tv cameras to poke through.

Luffield complex if inside the fence would also be good.

Which pits are they using? Always good getting photos of the drivers with their cars.

I think its the national circuit.

I don't think there is an actual race as such, so the first corner of first lap shot won't work. Could try outside of circuit, first left of the Maggots complex. Section from Brooklands through to Luffield worth looking at, as well as the exit of Woodcote.

Cheers for the replies.

Lenses are Tamron 28-75mm, Canon 70-200 f/4 L and Sigma 150-500mm.

I will be in the pits as I`ll be there with one of the drift drivers. As for what level of access I have on track I wont really know until I get there. All I know is I have a media pass issued by Future publishing (the organisers of the event).
