Following many months of review, the decision has been made to relocate Silverprint to Warehouse Premises in Poole, Dorset. Unfortunately in relation to this, the London Store at 120 London Road will close this Thursday 18 February at Midday, for the final time.

A shame! It was great being able to pop by to their store and pick up heavy items such as chemicals, but the vast majority of their business is online, so it's a logical step. Their retail premises rent is probably high, and rising all the time as well.

That is a great shame. If I still lived in London I would be distraught. The only other place that I knew for film and chemicals in London was Process Supplies. In Liverpool, there is nowhere as far as I know.

I was never in London long enough to pay them a visit, mainly just being there on daytrips for meetings when I had no time. I often wonder how much footfall these specialist shops have, but it seems it isn't enough to justify keeping the shop open any longer. I wish them well in their move and wonder if they'll be anywhere near Robert White?

That's depressing news. It was always a great shop to pop into. Not the cheapest in London but they always had good quality items. Their storage boxes are lovely.

Having only ever ordered from them online, their location means little to me. If a move out of London is the difference between staying in business and going bust then it must be a good thing.

If most of their business is online sales (which I assume it is) then a London address is not important.

Steve.

Every time I've visited London over the last few years, Silverprint has been shut, now I'm going on a weekday and they go and move!
