Just wondered if anyone's tried this?

I bought a Plustek film scanner last year that came bundled with Silverfast 6, and I took the plunge and upgraded to 8 today..

The interface is improved, but getting colour balance right is difficult on occasions. Photoshop does a pretty good of achieving a neutral balance, but it works best on correctly-exposed slides. Underexposed slides are always a pain to scan.

Yes I use it and it is a very powerful piece of kit but a pain to use and get the best out of it.

After a fair bit of fiddling, I've come to the conclusion that it isn't producing results as good as Silverfast v6.. it seems to have a problem resolving shadow detail.

v8 is stil on its first release, so hopefully it will be tweaked in future revisions..
