I'm looking into using a small local printing lab - they want images in 400dpi.

I shoot and edit in raw in LR3 and export as jpeg.

It gives me the option of ppi - default to 300 - but that's not the same is it?

How do I get my images to 400dpi?

Thanks!

Select image in library to be exported.

Press "export"

In Export screen that pops up go to tab "Image Sizing" and there is a box labled "Resolution". Just type in 400.

Yes I can do that but that sets the ppi - so is that the same as dpi?

Sorry, I feel very silly asking this as I should know!

I'm guessing the print lab is wrong.

DPI is dots per inch

PPI is pixels per inch

They are asking you to supply a digital image so it should be PPI

You could clarify this with them but I'd just go with what Steve says.

Thanks, I'll double check with them but can just change to 400ppi if needed.

Thanks for the help.:)
