Anybody have a Sigma's EF-530 DG SUPER flash? I was looking and they seem very reasonably priced compared to the sb800/900 how do they compare?
Thanks.

Dont know how they compare but i got the sigma. Seems ok, nice enough only downside i broke the diffuser off mine within a week of having it, but i took it back to the shop where i bought it from, they sent it back to sigma, and sigma fixed it for free!

Only downside i can say from using it is that it likes to eat batterys

I used to have Sigma 500 DG Super. Worked pretty well. Powerful. Loaded with features.
Not as rigid as Canon or Nikon units though. But considering the price difference can be a good choice.
I'm assuming the newer model (530) is even better.

Thanks guys, I'm looking at getting some for spares,, and they are a lot cheaper than the Nikon units (the price has gone up a lot) these seem good value.
Thanks wayne

Some people say the battery door is a bit dodgy i thought so too just be a bit careful when changing the batteries:)

I've not used the Nikon ones, but comparing against the Canon ones, they are definitely more fragile. In operation though, they do the job fine.

I have one on my Canon and can't fault it. The build is good enough for my requirments and I can't see it being a problem unless your pretty rough on your gear! For the price difference bettween it and a Canon 580EX I was well chuffed.
