I recently bought a Sigma 24-70 2.8 macro lens.

I've have used it for a wedding with great results, however I find that close up (10-12") the results are not very good at all??:shake::shake:

Does anybody else have this problem?

I'm not expecting macro capabilities, but my Canon kit lens gives much better result than this lens.

I have this lens as a spare for my wedding work, and use it on a Canon 1DSMKII with no problems. You might have a bad copy, but as i say mine is great on the Canon 1DSMKII and that would show up any problems with the lens.

I bought one from this site - never had any problems with it, certainly not the one you describe.

Min. focusing distance = 40cm on that lens. Might that be the problem?

Its not a true macro by any means, as it has a max magnification of 1:3.8

Didn't realise it was 40cm, I tried it at 40cm & compared to the Canon & there is not that much difference!:embarrassed:
