Have a Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 winging its way to me for christmas and was thinking about teleconverters, anyone here use the Sigma variety? if so are they any good? And are the canon versions compatible with Sigma lenses? Any help appreciated.

I use the Sigma 1.4 with my 70-200. and am not at all unhappy with it. I do not know if the cannon TC's are compatible as I am a Nikon shooter. :D

I have both the 1.4 and 2X Sigma TC's which work fine on my 150-500.

Canon Extenders are compatible with the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 and the Sigma 300-800mm f/5.6, so I assume they will also be compatible with the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8. (There are generally very few incompatibility issues in Canon-fit equipment.) But I don't have that lens so I can't be 100% sure.

I have both Canon and Sigma 1.4 & 2

I prefer the Canon's on my Sigma 300mm F2.8 and for that reason will be letting the Sigma's go soon.

Personaly I would go for the Canon. But you will be paying twice as much so depend on your wallet.
