SIGMA SD10/SD14 V's Nikkon D200

I am a very new member with a SD9.
I have spent a fair bit on Sigma mount lenses and so logically was planning to upgrade to the SD14. I have read a few articles not reccomending it for sports photography due to fps and image burst/storage - some of these reviews reccomend the Nikkon D200 for the ability to take faster images and store more continuous shots.

Has anyone else used or looked at the SIGMA 10/14 or experienced these against the D200 by any chance?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

To be honest, if you have a range of Sigma mount lenses then I would stick with Sigma bodies. Doesnt make sense to sell up lose a load money and start again.

Time your release for action shots.

EDIT: Forget the SD10, the SD14 looks to be a rather nice camera. What lenses have you got?
 
3 frames per second (SD14) is not bad unless you intend to make a career of motorsport photography, do you get good results from your SD9?

I suppose you need to ask yourself how much you want to change formats and how much you can afford to spend. The D200 is not a cheap camera and decent lenses cost too, though you could sell your Sigma kit to help finance the change.
 
If he already has a range of Sigma mount lenses is there really a need to switch to another format and suffer spending hundreds more?

I dont think you will be gaining anything by switching formats, just a load of hassle and brand name.

I have the original 24-70 and a recent 18-50 but the biggie was the 70-200 F2.8 Macro that I just bought last month !!! Hows that for timing

It is a conundrum and ha dI not looked for other reviews I would have already ordered the SD14 I guess.

The SD9 is good for landscape but there is quite a lag in shutter release and I only get 2.5(cough) fps at medium format. I suppose eiterh way it is a chunk to upgrade and I can't really justify the extra 2 fps but I want this to be a keeper and not regret it and change in another year or so - else I may as well just get the divorce papers ready :-)

Mainly landscapes to date but am trying to spend some time on motorsport photography
