Basically this. Good for updating firmware if lens is that out of datedon't buy new, you can get them for around £20, and yes they are worth it.
I don’t use such an adapter, but if the adapter has firmware then you will need to update both if necessary. Thanks, that’s helpful. Im thinking of using a sigma canon fit lens (500mm f4) and sigma canon to Sony adaptor. Would you need to do both the lens and the adaptor?
Yes, set up the camera, adaptor and lens just as you would for taking photos. Thanks, that’s helpful. Im thinking of using a sigma canon fit lens (500mm f4) and sigma canon to Sony adaptor. Would you need to do both the lens and the adaptor?
This depends on which lens you are using it with but generally AF adjustment points are the most interesting. A prime lens has less adjustment points for AF adjustment, for example. One of the benefits of making AF adjustments with the dock is that the adjustments are stored in (and applied by) the lens itself rather than the camera body. With my Nikon D780/Sigma 50-500mm lens combination I get 16 AF adjustment points rather than the 2 that the camera can store. What can you adjust with these? What lens features are you able to customise, or is it for focus correction only?
