Sigma macro flash,any good

Looking for a flash for macro,is this unit any good or should i go with a sb-600
with some sort of home made adaptor.
Or could someone recommend something else.

I struggled to get consistent exposures in any mode with mine and it eventually went back for a full refund. Not sure whether it was a rogue one or not.

I now have 3 x SB600's and can't fault them.
