Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a good zoom lens and was looking at
this anyone know if its any good and if the price is good?

price wise I could go a little higher but not by much as I'm on a bit of a budget

cheers for any feedback :D
 
i had this lens from that very retailer, imho, you wont get better for your money, its cheap, but it is capable of good images in good light. A great starter lens if you get a well made one!

i am new here myself , i bought this lens last week paid a bit more for it typical , seems a good lens takes good pics , not a true macro lens but ,
gets pretty close to the subject , brill price as well which is allways good

Yes in this price range this is the best provided you get the APO version (from what I've seen & read) - If you don't mind importing from HK onestop do it for £115 - MPB Photographic have / had a mint used one for £119 ... Paul ;)
 
Cracking lens. Used one of these through last year for motorsports and found it excellent. Some people comment on it being slow to lock on in bad light but having worked right through from bright sunshine to darkness and needing flash, I never experienced a problem I must say. That's a reasonable price too - although as is mentioned above if you don't mind an import then you can get cheaper. having said that I wouldn't have thought the difference would make it worth the potentisal problems with "grey" imports etc.

Just thought I would pimp this as much as I can: trying to pay off my 18-200 VR ;)

I've got the APO in very good condition with UV filter, Hama CPL filter, lens hood and soft case. I'm looking for £100 including RMSD if you're interested...

Excellent choice. I have the non APO nikon mount version which is very capable, and I tried a friends APO, but TBH, I couldnt see a difference in the images, but the APO is the better lens, so go for it.

Its still easy to hand hold and gives great results. :thumbs:

The macro is limited, but better than nothing, and works particularly weel for th emore inaccessible macro stuff, like [in my very short stature case] branches that are just a bit high :))
