looking for any opinions on this lens?

If you want it for macro, then I wuld say 50mm is a bit short.
I have the Sigma 150mm macro and it's a corker.

'Tis pretty short for macro work on a 1:1 scale.
You have to be VERY close to the subject......

However, a stunning little lens, built like a tank and tack sharp.
And takes a lush portrait!
