Hello all,

does anybody know of another company that can service Sigma lenses,

I have a sigma 500mm f4.5 that i want to have serviced etc.

The lens is working ok, but just thought i would give it a treat.

cheers paul.......

If it's working properly, don't bother. The only effect will be to reduce your bank balance. There's nothing they can do that will make it any better.

Sigma.

After sending my 28-300 there for a sticky aperture blade repair I got such good service next time if there ever is a problem with one of my Sigmas I'll send it straight to Sigma.

Just had a quick look at the service tariff and its £52.99 per hour, no idea how long it'll take but thats the sort of thing they can tell you and for me its always been pretty rigid.

Thanks Stewart and Caleb for the info,

I will give them a ring and book it in, stewart the AF is a bit noisey now and again, then it is an oldish lens now.

Cheers Paul

Been looking to have my Sigma fisheye repaired...so curious to know how much it cost in the end Paul

Just to let you know if it's an AF problem they'll probably have to strip the lens down to get to the motors and, as it's a big lens, it'll take some time just to do that alone (it'll then have to be recalibrated, adding more time).

As Stewart said, unless it's becoming unusable I wouldn't bother as the cost could be a couple of hundred quid even without parts. Noisy AF can be a number of things, from a simple regreasing to a new AF motor - and typically parts for 500mm lenses aren't cheap...

And also the postage for a heavy lens is likely to be £20 or so each way...

what does that mean. the repair I had done at sigma was my own fault as I scratched the outer element.
