DG is a lens coating
DC means its for camera that have cropped sensors.

Of course it makes sense, looking through Sigma lens section on Jessops website, they show either DC or DG never both. Perfectly reasonable question I think

Someone get out of bed the wrong side this morning? The OP clearly asks if there is any difference in quality which doesn't imply that there is a difference. It just asks if the DG/DC is used to indicate a difference in quality of something else.

yup dc is for crop sensors. dg fits film or full frame.dc on my 30D , dg on her 5D.
and the EX denotes sigmas "proffesional" spec lenses.
