:thumbs:I just bought the sigma 70-300 DG macro lens for my camera for when I get it back, is it any good. I got a uv filter and rocket thrown in free.

hmm so you are asking for advice after you have bought it.... :S

Why not wait till you get your camera back?

It is a decent budget lens, but to be honest i would off saved abit more and got something better;)

Did you get the APO version?

You are an odd one Ashers :cuckoo: why buy a lens and then ask if it's any good?

Hi Ashers. I'm a little baffled as to why you went out and spent your winnings on a lens that you don't seem to know whether its any good or not. Especially when you are regularly stating how skint you are.
I'm not wishing to be appear rude, so please don't take it that way. I'm just sort of stunned. if you get my drift.
I know you post regularly on here, so why didn't you ask BEFORE you bought the lens. But, I suppose you could always return it tomorrow?
I'm waffling here. Thats how you get me though. You confuse me!
Anyway mate, I hope you like the lens and enjoy using it.

Kev.

The APO version is supposed to be significantly better, but costs £ 150 ish instead of £ 100.

My Macro DG was soft from 200mm to 300mm. Close focus was quite good, although its not true macro.

I kept mine for a year then upgraded.

it was reduced from about 130 to £99.97 in the sale and i wanted to spend my winnings on something i would use instead of just drinking it away. so i saw it, and it was either that or a flash gun so i bought it :) and they lured me in with free stuff thrown in :)

Fair enough mate. Much better than wasting it on booze. Enjoy...
